SMS reminders: fewer no-shows with one message
How to send appointment reminders by SMS, when they work best and what they cost.
A customer who forgets their appointment costs you a slot nobody else can use. A short SMS the day before is the cheapest way to prevent it — most people read an SMS within minutes, and a reply such as YES or CANCEL gives you time to fill the slot.
When should the reminder go out?
- 24 hours before suits most appointments: salons, clinics, workshops.
- 2–3 hours before for short same-day bookings or customers who often run late.
- Avoid late evenings; between 9:00 and 20:00 is safe.
What should it say?
Name, day and time, the address if it can be confused, and how to cancel. Keep it within 160 characters so it is one SMS:
Hi Anna, see you tomorrow at 10:30 at SalonNord. Reply YES to confirm or CANCEL if you can't make it.
Sender name and replies
With JaSMS your own company name is the sender. If you want replies such as YES and CANCEL back, the message has to come from a number — rent a Danish number in the portal and replies arrive in your inbox and on your webhook.
Automatic from your booking system
Most booking systems can call an API. With JaSMS it is one call per message, and you can schedule sending in advance.
What does it cost?
You pay per SMS with no subscription. See the current price for Denmark on the pricing page — for most businesses it is a few kroner a month per employee.
